about

This is the first demo I made for my song about my harmless crush on actress Julianne Moore- recorded February 2005.

lyrics

I won't be put out if you don't make me laugh
but I would find it funny
if you found that photograph
of my ex-lover in Holland
all whiskeyed up and mingling with a sign post
like she's known it now for years

I brought a chisel and a hard hat to my twentieth blind date
'cause I just go for the comedy at this point
the person I'm out with looks like Julianne Moore
but she isn't anything like I'd imagine she might be
I'm in the movie Vertigo, I dress ev'ryone I might know like her.

Where's my Julianne? Who is that at the door?
I'm hoping for Julianne Moore.

Want another drink? I think I'll have one too
I'd click my heels together if I had my ruby shoes
The woman that I'm out with
keeps talking talking talking 'bout her old flame
guess I can't really complain
because distraction is a hobby of mine
and it's in full gear, it's the same woman ev'ry night
the person I'm out with looks like Julianne Moore
but she isn't anything like I'd imagine she might be
I'm in the movie Vertigo, I dress ev'ryone I might know like her.

No one else compares with her
Perhaps Meryl Streep, but the world wants her
Safe in front of the movie screen,
this one-sided romance is fine with me
'til I'm home and it's late
and my lonely heart begins to ache.

Maybe in time, this lust will decline
'Til then it's just not so fair
for me to date
for hearts may break
ev'ryone is Julianne
You can tap dance for me
You can charm all the bees,
but you're just one more Julianne.

Where's my Julianne? Who is that at the door?
I'm hoping for Julianne Moore.
